Taylor joined MELC in 2024, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in child development and behavior support. She graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has worked as a classroom assistant at Heat-start in Ellensburg, as well as spending two years with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families in Everett.
In her role as a Behavior Specialist, Taylor provides one-on-one support to children, helping them navigate their emotional and behavioral challenges. She collaborates closely with teachers to create inclusive classroom environments that foster learning and growth for every child. By offering resources and strategies tailored to individual needs, Taylor empowers educators to implement effective behavioral interventions.
Taylor is also a valuable resource for teachers and families, guiding them through strategies and techniques that promote positive behavior both in class and at home. Her goal is to build strong partnerships with both teachers and families, ensuring a cohesive approach to each child's development.
Outside of her professional life, Taylor enjoys reading, hiking, and pottery, which inspire her creativity and provide balance. She shares her home with her dog, Dune, and cat, Tilly, who bring her endless joy and companionship.
A fun fact about Taylor: she grew up in Southern California and moved to Washington to play softball in college. After falling in love with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, she has made it her home for the past eight years. Taylor is excited to be part of the MELC community and is dedicated to supporting the children and families she serves.
