History of MELC

Mini Einstein's Learning Center (MELC) is a Christian based early learning center which operates in Lynnwood, WA. Owned and operated by Samantha and William Sciacca, MELC began as small church-based program called Cornerstone Early Learning Center.

After 20 years of operation, Cornerstone decided to close its doors. Samantha, seeing the need to continue the program, took over as owner/director. Samantha's vision began through the determination to establish a quality childcare program and offer an open door for families of all backgrounds and beliefs. What started as a three classroom facility with 30 students and 7 teachers has turned into 14 classrooms with over 150 students and 40 teachers!

MELC is a veteran owned and operated business. We offer discounts for our active duty/reserve component/national guard/veteran clients. For more information regarding discounts, please contact MELC.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to serve families in the community by providing high quality care for their infants, toddlers, preschool, and pre-k children in a safe, supportive, exciting, and nurturing environment so that they can grow physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually, and will come to understand that they are created and loved by God.

Christian Foundations

Our Christian Foundations curriculum teaches 12 monthly values of living a life of goodwill, virtue, and moral responsibility. MELC believes the key to a lifelong learner is to build a solid foundation in the first eight years of life, when our brains grow the most. Our Christian Foundations offers the opportunity to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically, and cognitively through the combination of age-appropriate play and structured activities.

We are committed to the idea that children learn best through establishing caring, responsive relationships with caregivers and peers. Our teachers guide students in using our core monthly values in their daily interactions in the classroom. Then, we integrate carefully chosen books, songs, monthly projects, and active play to teach children God's love and build character.
